She sometimes doesn't cooperate, and I'm worried that might happen more - meaning me lifting 100lb of dog into the Forester too many times and getting frustrated (and weak). After a lot of coaxing she did jump in, but I could see her flinching. I mounted the Rocket Box properly, and set the hatch appropriately, then tried to get Morgan to jump in. It took me a long time to get the dog to jump up into the back with the hatch fully open (the rear deck is pretty high and Morgan thought she was going to hit her head or back). The top of the hatch is now about 9" lower than it was. The problem is that the Yakima round bars can't be moved far enough forward such that the rear hatch can open fully. Because the Forester is small (at least when there's a very large dog), I want to use an old Yakima Rocket Box. I'm taking the Forester on a 2 week road trip starting in a few days. I'd ask this on a Yakima forum or general cargo box forum, but I can't find anywhere appropriate and I know people are active here.
